Hello to my parents and the occasional student who decides to read the Editor’s Letter. New school year, new issue, which means we have a lot of new voices reflected in the pages of this issue. It’s always so exciting during our brainstorm sessions to hear new perspectives that have not yet been represented. It is both an exciting and scary time to be alive right now. Our world is constantly changing as leaders rise and fall, and as innovation in emerging technologies shakes the foundations of our everyday lives. And even within our own individual lives, so much is changing. A new year means new teachers, new friends, and new subjects. For DP students, we have discovered new reasons to be stressed, new excuses to get yellow slips, and new ways to procrastinate (I personally have developed an addiction to playing online solitaire).
In this issue, Tamana explores new AI technology, Sofia explores new school policies, Quinn explores the new global foreign policy, and Adda explores new Swiss legislation. We also have a new recurring article series in which anonymous writers offer advice to students entering new domains that aren’t discussed in a school context. This issue shows how new things can be scary and create a lot of uncertainty, but they can also be very exciting and open new doors. One of the most important things that the IB has taught me is to embrace change and use it to succeed.
